(A) It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police or other police officer to capture and impound in a pound, to be furnished by the village, each dog found at large in contravention of the provisions of this subchapter.
(B) Upon the impounding of a dog pursuant to division (A) of this section, the Chief of Police shall notify the owner of the dog so impounded, if the name of the owner is ascertained.
