§ 91.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   ALARM EQUIPMENT SUPPLIERS. Any person, firm or corporation that sells, leases or installs automatic protection devices which transmit alarms upon receipt of a stimulus from a detection apparatus or a manually operated system.
   AUTOMATIC PROTECTION DEVICE. An electrically operated instrument which automatically sends voice, visual or other audible signal over a telephone line, cable television line or by any other means to an operator or monitor station at the receiving terminal.
   FALSE ALARM. The activation of an alarm system through mechanical failure, malfunction, improper installation or maintenance, the negligence of the user, owner or lessee of an alarm system or of his or her employers or agents.
