For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
PUBLIC FUNDS. Shall mean current operating funds, special funds, interest and sinking funds and funds of any kind or character belonging to or in the custody of the village. This subchapter does not apply to pension funds or retirement systems established under the Illinois Pension Code, ILCS Ch. 40, Act 5, §§ 1-101 et seq., except as otherwise provided in that Code.
