The term of the five persons of the Shade Tree Commission to be appointed by the Mayor shall be for five years. In the event that a vacancy occurs during the term of any member, his or her successor shall be appointed for the unexpired portion of the term. The member from the Council and the Mayor shall serve on the Commission during their continuance in their respective elective offices.
