§ 38.610 EXPECTATIONS OF EMPLOYEES.
   (A)   Work habits. All employees are expected to maintain competency to properly perform the duties of their position. Employees shall perform their duties in a manner which reflects the high standards of the village with regards to effectiveness in safely and efficiently carrying out our mission, functions, and objectives.
   (B)   Punctuality. It is essential that you report for work at your scheduled hour. Late reporting and early departing shall be paid accordingly and may be subject to disciplinary action.
   (C)   Conflict of interest.
      (1)   No employee will accept from any contractor or supplier doing business with the village, any material or service for the private use of the employee.
      (2)   No employee shall represent private interests in any action or proceedings against the interest of the village in any matter in which the village is part.
      (3)   State law prohibits employees and officials from having a financial interest in companies which do business with public agencies with minor exemptions. Employees who have any doubt concerning possible violation of these statutes are advised to consult their own attorney.
      (4)   Violations of this code may constitute a cause of suspension, removal from office or employment to other disciplinary action.
   (D)   Courtesy. Village employees are representatives of the Village of Bellville and as such, their behavior and courtesy reflect upon the village. Therefore, it is expected that all village employees will display tact and courtesy when dealing with the public and with other village employees at all times. Rude or inconsiderate behavior or public insults or profanity will not be tolerated.
   (E)   Political activity. Village employees are prohibited from engaging in political activity while on duty.
