§ 51.056 SERVICE CONNECTIONS.
   (A)   Service connections shall consist of vitrified clay, soil, cast iron or SDR-35 or American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D3034 of a size not less than four-inches nominal, nor more than six-inches maximum diameter. Vitrified clay pipe and fittings shall conform to specifications for Extra Strength Clay Sewer Pipe ASTM C-700-7901. Six-inch pipe shall be used in new construction. The service connections shall be of premium joint construction and made of PVC schedule 40 pipe or SDR-35. Cleanouts are required outside all structures or units. In multi-tenant buildings, individual services may be connected to a common pipe, then to the main.
   (B)   A separate and independent building sewer shall be provided for every building; except where one building stands at the rear of another on an interior lot and no private sewer is available or can be constructed to the rear building through an adjoining alley, court, yard, or driveway, the front building sewer may be extended to the rear building and the whole considered as one building sewer, but the village does not, and shall not, assume any obligation or responsibility for damage caused by, or resulting from, any such single connection aforementioned, and/or dimensions are not compatible, a commercial adapter shall be provided. A copy of an ordinance or regulation requiring this type of construction must be on file with OEPA district office or submitted with all sewer plans to receive approval.
