The purpose of this chapter is to promote and protect the public health, safety, and general welfare by providing for the regulation of the planting, maintenance, and removal of trees, shrubs, and other plants within the city. As the home of Fontenelle Forest and a designated Community Arboretum, the city is committed to establishing policies, regulations and standards necessary to ensure that the city will continue to realize the benefits provided by its community forest.
