§ 28-174 APPROVAL.
   (A)   A petition for a commemorative street or public facility name shall be initially reviewed and considered for recommendation by the public works department, which shall review the proposal for compliance. The public works department also may request the review and recommendation of additional city departments and public safety service providers, where necessary.
   (B)   The recommendation of the public works department shall be forwarded for review and approval by the city administrator. The city administrator shall review the proposal and send a written recommendation regarding the proposal to the city council.
   (C)   Final approval, either accepting or rejecting the petition, shall be made by the city council. The council may, in its discretion, conduct a public hearing regarding the proposed name change before making a final decision.
