§ 27-97 DEFINITIONS.
   BUILDING DRAIN. That part of the lowest horizontal piping of a building drainage system which receives and conveys the discharge from soil, waste, and drainage pipes, other than storm drains, from within the walls or footings of any building to the building sewer.
   BUILDING SEWER. That part of the horizontal piping of a drainage system which extends from the end of the building drain and which receives the discharge of the building drain and conveys it to the public sewer, private sewage disposal system, or other point of disposal.
   DRAIN. Any pipe which carries waste or waterborne wastes in a building drainage system.
   PRIVATE SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM. A septic tank with the effluent discharging into a subsurface disposal field, into one or more seepage pits, or into a combination of subsurface disposal field and seepage pit or of such other facilities as may be permitted under the procedures set forth elsewhere in this code.
   PRIVATE SEWER. A building sewer which receives the discharge for more than one building drain and conveys it to a public sewer, private sewage disposal system, or other point of disposal.
   PUBLIC SEWER. A common sewer directly controlled by public authority.
   SANITARY SEWER. A sewer intended to receive human excrement or waste and liquid household wastes.
   STORM SEWER. A conduit for carrying off surface, storm, and clear water.
