The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
FARMERS’ MARKET. A designated area where, on designated days and times, growers and producers may sell directly to the public, in accordance with city regulations. The city shall have the right to relocate or discontinue the market, to specify the days and times of its use and to stipulate what goods may be sold.
GROWER AND PRODUCER. Any person offering for sale articles for human consumption, such as fruits, vegetables, edible grains, nuts and berries, apiary products, maple sugars, syrups, eggs, cheese products, sausage, or nonedible articles such as cut or potted flowers, which articles have been raised or prepared by the grower or producer, by members of their family or by persons in their employ. All articles offered for sale by the grower or producer must be grown or processed in the state. The sale of products proscribed by the director of public health, with the exception of those products specifically permitted to be sold under this article, shall be prohibited. The sale of eggs, cheese products and sausage shall be permitted only if proper refrigeration is provided.
LIVE MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT PERFORMANCE. Family-friendly, live music entertainment to be performed during regular market hours. Only one live music entertainment performance will be provided space at each market. Performers at each market may offer their own music CDs and other promotional items for sale.
