Qualification for each city officer who is not required to give bond shall consist in his subscribing and taking oath to support the Constitution of the United States, the constitution of the state and this Code and any other ordinances of the city and to perform faithfully and impartially the duties of his office, such oath to be filed in the office of the city clerk. Each officer who is required to give bond shall file the required bond in the office of the city clerk with sufficient sureties, conditioned for the faithful discharge of the duties of his office, with an oath endorsed thereon in the same terms as in case of officers who are not required to give bond.
