§ 2-137 APPOINTMENT OF APPOINTIVE OFFICERS GENERALLY.
   The mayor shall, by and with the approval of a majority of the city council, appoint a city treasurer, clerk, engineer, attorney and such other officers deemed necessary. The mayor may, with the approval of a majority of the city council, appoint a city administrator. The vote thereon shall be recorded in the minutes of the meeting by the city clerk, together with the names of the members voting for and against such appointment. All appointed officials may be removed at any time by the mayor with the approval of a majority of the city council. All appointed officers shall perform such duties as prescribed by ordinance. The office of city administrator may not be held by the mayor. The appointed city administrator may concurrently hold any other appointed office provided for in this section.
