§ 6-55 PURCHASE OF UNCLAIMED ANIMAL.
   Any animal not reclaimed by its owner within five days shall become the property of the local government authority, or humane society, and shall be placed for adoption in a suitable home or humanely destroyed. Any impounded animal, which is unlicensed and unclaimed, may be purchased at the end of a five-day incarceration period. The purchaser shall pay fees as determined by the licensing authority. The purchase fee shall be credited to the licensing authority.
