§ 31.23 MAYOR PRO TEM.
   (A)   The Council member with the largest plurality of votes in the immediate preceding general election shall be designated to serve as Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Bellevue.
   (B)   When the Mayor is unavailable to serve at a Board of Council meeting, the Council member who is occupying the position of Mayor Pro Tem at the time of the occurrence of the Mayor's absence shall preside at the Board of Council meeting. The Mayor Pro Tem who presides does not temporarily lose his or her role as a Council member, and may continue to introduce legislation and vote on any issue.
