§ 32.21 MAYOR PRO TEM.
   (A)   Pursuant to the provisions of KRS 83A.130(5) the City Council shall elect at its first meeting in January of each year, or as soon thereafter as business permits, a Mayor Pro Tem to preside at its meetings in the absence of the Mayor, by a majority vote of the entire Council. The sole function of the Mayor Pro Tem shall be to preside at Council meetings in the absence of the Mayor.
   (B)   The term of office for the Mayor Pro Tem shall be for the calendar year and until a successor is elected. He shall be subject to removal by a majority vote of Council, exclusive of the vote of the member serving as Mayor Pro Tem.
