§ 31.39 CITY ATTORNEY.
   (A)   There is created the position of City Attorney of the City of Bellevue.
   (B)   The City Attorney shall attend the meetings of the City Council, advise it in all legal proceedings or matters of litigation, and perform any other duties required by the City Council.
   (C)   Before entering on the duties of the position, the City Attorney must be able to meet the requirements of the security bond company that provides blanket bond coverage to the city, and must be able to be bonded in the amount of $25,000.00.
   (D)   The position may be filled and necessary legal services provided through a professional service contract with an attorney or attorneys licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky on such terms as are mutually agreeable.
   (E)   The personnel rules and regulations of the city shall not apply to this position.
