§ 156A.99 PENALTY.
   (A)   Any person who shall violate a provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine of not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisonment for a term not to exceed one hundred eighty (180) days, or both, at the discretion of the court. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served shall be deemed a separate offense.
   (B)   The city shall also have the right to seek civil injunctive relief against any person(s) who rent(s) any rental unit in the absence of a valid rental license and to recover the litigation costs and attorney fees incurred by the city therein.
