All costs and expense incident to the installation and connection of the house water service shall be borne by the owner in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Water Department. The owner to whom a permit is issued shall be held responsible for the proper installation of the water service in accordance with the rules and regulations contained herein and shall indemnify and save harmless the City from any loss or damages that may directly or indirectly be occasioned by the installation of the water service.
(a) In the event the Mayor or his authorized representative shall ascertain that any property has been connected directly or indirectly to the waterworks system in violation of the provisions of this section, the Mayor shall have the same disconnected until such violation shall cease. The City shall be reimbursed by the violator for expenses incurred by the City in making such disconnection or any reconnection.
(b) Whoever violates any provisions of this section shall be guilty of a minor misdemeanor and each day during which such violation shall continue shall be a separate offense. (Ord. 19-06. Passed 7-24-06.)
