921.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the clarification and effective enforcement of this chapter, the following definitions, unless the context or use specifically indicates otherwise, shall be interpreted as the meaning of the terms used in this chapter. Such definitions shall be equally applicable to both the singular and plural forms of any of the words and terms herein defined.
   (a)    "City" means the City of Bellevue, Ohio.
   (b)    "Mayor" means the duly elected Mayor of the City of Bellevue, Ohio.
   (c)    "Service Director" means the duly appointed Director of Public Service of the City of Bellevue, Ohio.
   (d)    "Water" means potable water as carried and delivered through the municipal waterworks system.
   (e)    "Feeder mains" means those sections of the waterworks distribution system generally ten inches or larger in size that provide the main supply of water to the local water lines.
   (f)    "Local water lines" means those sections of the waterworks distribution system eight inches in size, providing service for individual streets and properties located thereon.
   (g)    "Permit" means the permission by the City for residences, apartments, hotels, motels, business buildings or properties, institutions and industrial establishments to connect to the Municipal waterworks distribution system.
   (h)    "Municipal waterworks system" means the network of feeder mains, local water lines, pump station, and storage facilities that provide the means to furnish water service to the customers of the waterworks system.
   (i)    "House water service" means those sections of the water distribution system providing water service from the local water lines to the individual properties.
   (j)    "Water connection" means the connection from the house water service to the local water lines or feeder mains.
   (k)    "Tap-in charges" means the fee to be collected by the City for the purpose and reasons as set forth in the preamble to this chapter for a connection to the water works system. (Ord. 19-06. Passed 7-24-06.)
