Upon receipt of the appropriate application and fee, the Mayor shall refer the application to the Chief of Police who shall conduct an investigation of the application and the premises to include the proposed coin-operated amusement device. If the Chief of Police finds that the application information is in order and that the premises and devices are in compliance with law, he shall report to the Mayor who shall issue a permit for a specific number of machines. The Mayor shall issue the appropriate license and the date of the inspection shall be placed on the license. The Chief of Police shall make one or more additional inspections each additional year. The date of each inspection shall be shown on the license.
