(A) Fire hydrants shall be located as designated by the Fire Chief under standards established by the National Fire Protection Association. Exceptions to these standards shall be permitted only with the approval of the City Engineer and Mayor.

(B) Appeals to decisions of the location of fire hydrants shall be made in writing by an Alderman to the Police and Fire Committee. The Police and Fire Committee shall consider the request and make a recommendation to the City Council for its affirmation or denial.
