Pending the concurrence of the Council in such appointment under § 31.055 of this chapter, the Mayor may designate a suitable person to discharge the functions of such office. The Mayor shall notify members of the City Council of such temporary appointment within 48 hours of making the appointment. A temporary appointee shall not serve for more than 30 days without approval by a majority vote of the City Council.
