(A) Pursuant to Section 20 of the Illinois Local Governmental Acceptance of Credit Cards Act (50 ILCS 345/20), and in the best interests of the citizens and administration of the city, City Council hereby elects to accept credit card payments for all types of authorized obligations to the city as defined in Section 10 of the Illinois Local Governmental Acceptance of Credit Cards Act (50 ILCS 345/10), subject to any convenience fee or surcharge upon a cardholder permissible under Section 25 of the Illinois Local Governmental Acceptance of Credit Cards Act (50 ILCS 345/25) as imposed by the City Treasurer.
(B) City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Treasurer to implement uniform rules as to the manner of acceptance of credit cards payments to the city as authorized herein in accordance with the Illinois Local Governmental Acceptance of Credit Cards Act (50 ILCS 345/1 et seq.).
