§ 33.085 FIRE CODE ADOPTED.
   (A)   Adoption of Fire Prevention Code.
      (1)   There is hereby adopted by the city for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations to safeguard life, property and public welfare from the hazards of fire, and explosion arising from the storage, handling or use of substances, materials or devices and from conditions hazardous to life, property and public welfare in the use or occupancy of buildings, structures, sheds, tents, lots or premises, that certain code known as the 2015 International Fire Code and the whole thereof, save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended, and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out in length herein, and from the date on which this section shall take effect, the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the corporate limits of the city.
      (2)   Amendments. The 2015 International Fire Code are hereby revised and/or amended as follows:
         (a)   Wherever the term “fire code official” is used in the Code hereby adopted, it shall be held to mean the “Fire Chief, or their designee, of the City of Belleville, Illinois”.
         (b)   Section 101.1. Wherever the word “NAME OF JURISDICTION” is used in the Code hereby adopted, it shall be held to mean the “City of Belleville, Illinois”.
   (B)   Adoption of Appendices. Appendices A through H of the 2015 International Fire Code are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out in length herein.
