1539.02 POWERS OF INVESTIGATORS.
   The Chief of the Fire Department shall have the authority to designate one or more members of the Department of Fire who have received the required training to become law enforcement officers and have been duly sworn in as law enforcement officers to serve the function of Fire Investigator. Fire Investigators shall have the power and duty to investigate the cause of all fires, examine witnesses, compel the attendance of witnesses and the production of books and papers, protect persons and property, and obey and enforce all ordinances of the legislative authority of the municipal corporation, all criminal laws of the State and the United States, and to do and perform all other acts necessary to the effective discharge of such duties. Such Fire Investigator may administer oaths, make arrest, bear firearms, and enter for the purpose of examination any building which, in his opinion, is in danger from fire.
