It shall not be construed as authority to violate, cancel, alter or set aside any of the provisions of this Building Code or other applicable laws, ordinances, rules or regulations, nor shall it be construed to prevent the City Engineer and/or City Service-Safety Director and/or his or her designated representative from thereafter requiring a correction of errors in the plan or in the construction, nor shall it prevent him from requiring a correction of violations of this Building Code or of other applicable laws, ordinances, rules or regulations.
The City Engineer and/or City Service-Safety Director and/or his or her designated representative or his subordinates shall not incur any personal liability or expense or impose any liability or expense upon the City by virtue of prior approval of a plan or specification later determined to be in contravention of this Building Code or other applicable laws, ordinances, rules or regulations.
