§ 33.18 AUTHORITY TO ANSWER CALLS WITHIN FIVE MILES.
The Fire Department is authorized to answer all calls within a distance of five miles of the nearest fire station if first approved by the Fire Chief on duty, and unless, in the opinion of the Chief, it is inexpedient to do so on account of another fire in the city, broken apparatus, impassable or dangerous highways or other physical conditions. The Fire Chief shall determine that the equipment and personnel to be dispatched for such calls are not needed for other purposes within the city.
