(A) Such officers and employees of the city as are designated by the City Council shall, before entering upon the discharge of their duties, execute and file with the City Clerk surety bonds issued by a surety company authorized to operate in the state and conditioned upon the faithful performance of their duties. The city shall pay the premium on such bonds.
(B) The city shall provide a position bond in the minimum amounts as follows:
(1) City Clerk: $25,000;
(2) City Treasurer: $25,000;
(3) Public Works Authority Clerk: $25,000;
(4) Mayor: $5,000 (when acting as the Mayor, the President of the City Council shall be covered in the Mayor’s position bond); and
(5) Blanket bond for each police officer and Public Works Authority employee: $2,500 each.
