(A) The City Treasurer shall be an officer of the city. Subject to such regulations as the Council may prescribe, the City Treasurer shall:
(1) Maintain accounts and books to show where and from what sources all monies paid to the city have been derived and to whom and when any monies have been paid;
(2) Deposit daily funds received for the city in depositories as the Council may designate; and
(3) Have such other powers, duties and functions related to his or her statutory duties as may be prescribed by law or by ordinance.
(B) The person who serves as City Treasurer may be employed by the city to perform duties not related to his or her position as City Treasurer. The salary, if any, for said duties shall be provided for separately by ordinance.
