Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter or who shall fail to comply with any order issued under this chapter, or who shall fail to comply with or to obtain any permit required hereunder, could be subject to fines not exceeding $100 (one hundred dollars) a day. After each ten days a violation continues, it shall constitute an additional violation, provided however that the penalty for any violation shall not exceed $2,500.
