§ 73.02 CROSSWALKS, SAFETY ZONES.
   The Board of Public Works and Safety is hereby authorized to:
   (A)   Designate and maintain, by appropriate devices, marks, or lines upon the surface of the roadway, crosswalks at intersections where in his opinion there is particular danger to pedestrians crossing the roadway, and at such other places as he may deem necessary. However, there shall be deemed to be a crosswalk, whether or not so marked, at all sides of every intersection in the city duly designated as a street and so named by signs, or on public plats, and pedestrians shall have the right to cross there in both directions.

   (B)   Establish safety zones of such kind and character and at such places as he may deem necessary for the protection of pedestrians.
