§ 33.16 LEAVES OF ABSENCE.
   (A)   Request for leave of absence. Officers may request a leave of absence for any period up to six months. The request must be approved by the Reserve Commander.
      (1)   Request shall be made in writing to the Reserve Commander.
      (2)   All Department equipment shall be turned in prior to the leave of absence.
   (B)   Return from leave of absence. The officer shall report to the Reserve Commander in person within two days of the end of the leave of absence to be reinstated. If the officer does not report to the Reserve Commander within the allotted time period, he or she may be terminated. Any officer returning from a leave of absence will be required to attend in-service training to be updated on any new procedures of the city Police Department.
