11-7-1: STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS:
   (A)   Major Thoroughfares: Eighty (80) to one hundred (100) foot right of way, cross sections in accordance with the comprehensive plan and/or official map and as determined by the Village Engineer and the Plan Commission.
   (B)   Collector Thoroughfares: Eighty foot (80') right of way, forty two foot (42') pavements, sidewalks per Village specifications.
   (C)   Minor Streets: No on-street parking, sixty six foot (66') right of way, thirty two foot (32') pavements, sidewalks per Village specifications.
   (D)   Streets Along Development Boundaries and Streets Connecting Development with Existing Improved Street System: Cross sections are determined by the Village Engineer and the Plan Commission.
   (E)   Alleys: Paved full width per Village specifications.
   (F)   Lot and Street Grading: Per plans and profiles approved by the Village Engineer. Top of foundation elevations shall be noted.
   (G)   Curb and Gutter: Portland cement concrete per typical section, exhibit A.
   (H)   Storm sewers must be provided. Curb inlets shall be provided at an interval not to exceed six hundred feet (600'). The storm sewers must be constructed in accordance with Section 603 "Storm Sewers" of the Standard Specifications.
   (I)   Street Pavement Base:
      1.   The base course shall be constructed in strict compliance with Section 301 "Aggregate Base Course" of the standard specifications.
      2.   Prior to surfacing, the developer must obtain and provide to the Village a compaction test and thickness coring report. The compaction test shall be taken at intervals not to exceed three hundred feet (300') in length or as directed by the Village Engineer. Corings shall be taken at the center-line and adjacent to the curb at intervals not to exceed five hundred feet (500') in length or as directed by the Village Engineer.
   (J)   Street Pavement: The surface course shall be constructed in strict compliance with Section 405 "Bituminous Surface Plantmix" (Class B) of the standard specifications, with the following exceptions: The surface course shall be laid in two (2) layers. The first layer shall be one and one-half inches (11/2") compacted thickness. The surface layer shall be one inch (1") compacted thickness, and the aggregate shall be modified to that called for in bituminous concrete surface courses.
   (K)   Driveways: Per Village specifications.
   (L)   Sidewalks: Five inches (5") thick and four feet (4') wide Portland cement concrete in accordance with typical section, exhibit A.
   (M)   Trees: One inch (1") minimum caliper, forty feet (40') to fifty feet (50') apart per Village specifications. Required within front yard setback. No trees or shrubs will be allowed in the parkway.
   (N)   All parkways must be top-soiled, seeded and mulched by the developer. Slopes over 3:1 shall be sodded.
      (0)   Street Name Signs: At all intersections per Village specifications.
   (P)   Street Lighting: Street lighting shall be installed at all intersections and at intervals of not more than three hundred feet (300') between intersections. The specific locations, type of light standard, luminaries, and method of installation shall be approved by the Village Engineer. Poles shall be concrete or aluminum.
   (Q)   Telephone and Electric Service: In rear or side lot easements. These utilities shall be installed undergound.
   (R)   Gas: In street planting strip.
   (S)   All cross road culverts shall be a minimum eighteen inches (18") in diameter. All driveway culverts shall be a minimum of fifteen inches (15") in diameter and must be placed a minimum of ten feet (10') distance from the edge of the roadway. The driveway culvert shall not exceed twenty four feet (24') in length. Each lot shall be limited to one driveway culvert, except in the case of a circle drive where upon written request to the street chairman an additional culvert may be authorized. All culverts shall be installed in accordance with Section 511 "Pipe Culverts" of the standard specifications.
   (T)   All excavations within the curb lines shall be backfilled with compacted granular material.
All plans and specifications for utility and street improvements shall be prepared and certified by an Illinois Registered Professional Engineer. (Ord. 468, 11-8-76)
