11-5-6: STREET IMPROVEMENTS:
   (A)   Streets: All streets, curbs and gutters shall be designed and constructed in each new subdivision in conformance with the requirements and specifications as approved by the Village Engineer and the Board of Trustees.
   (B)   Sidewalks and Pedestrian Ways: Sidewalks shall be installed in all residential and commercial subdivisions and shall be constructed in accordance with Village standards and specifications. The sidewalks shall be constructed of Portland Cement concrete to a thickness of five inches (5") and to a width of not less than four feet six inches (4'6") in residential districts and six feet (6') in commercial districts. Sidewalks shall be located within the street right of way one foot (1') from the abutting property line.
   (C)   Street Trees: Trees shall be planted along all streets where trees do do not exist. Trees shall have a trunk diameter, measured twelve inches (12") above the ground, of not less than two and one-half inches (21/2") and shall be spaced not more than fifty feet (50') apart. This requirement will be satisfied if an equivalent number of trees of the same size or larger are planted in a naturalistic manner in the front yards of the adjoining lots. The plantings shall be restricted to thornless honey locusts, sugar maples, pin oaks, sycamores, and/or any other trees approved by the Village Board of Trustees. Box elder, catalpa, cottonwood, elm, hackberry, poplar, willow and similar brittle-wood species shall not be permitted for planting in any area devoted to public use.
   (D)   Street Lighting: Street lighting shall be provided by the subdivider throughout the subdivision at all street intersections and at intervals of not more than three hundred feet (300') between intersections. The specific locations, type of light standard, luminaires, and method of installation shall be approved by the Village Engineer.
   (E)   Street Signs: An appropriate street sign shall be erected at each street intersection within the subdivision. The type of sign and the location thereof shall be subject to the approval and direction of the Village Engineer.
   (F)   Public Utilities: All utility distribution lines for telephone, electric and TV cable service shall be placed undergound throughout each new subdivision. Said distribution lines shall be placed within easements or dedicated public ways, in a manner which will not conflict with other underground services. Further, all transformer boxes shall be located so as not to be unsightly or hazardous to the public.
   (G)   As-Built Plans: Upon completion of the installation of improvements in a subdivision, one set of tracings on cloth or equal suitable for use in reproduction, which shows all improvements as actually installed in the field, shall be filed with the Village Clerk.
