Any dog for which the license fee for the current year has been paid, which may during such year be impounded or taken up for being at large without a collar and tag for which satisfactory proof shall be given to the village by affidavit of the owner or keeper thereof, or by other sufficient testimony that such dog was so licensed and that a collar was put around its neck with a license tag attached thereto, as provided in this chapter, and that such collar and tag has been lost or taken from such dog, may be redeemed by the owner or keeper of such dog upon payment to the village of a fee of one dollar ($1.00) for a replacement tag.
