6-2-11: DOGS ON LEASH:
   (A)   Nothing in this chapter shall be held to require the leashing of any dog while on private property.
   (B)   Dogs while on any public way or public place, or in the areas surrounding any building occupied by two (2) or more families within the village, shall be led by a chain or leash not exceeding six feet (6') in length in such a manner as to prevent such dog from biting any person or animal.
   (C)   No dog shall be permitted, even though on leash, to enter any public hall, restaurant, or place where food or beverages are served, office, store, market, or confectionery shop anywhere within the limits of the village, during the time that said place is open for public business.
   (D)   The provisions of this section shall not apply to guard dogs or guide dogs, nor shall they apply to any owner of a business who temporarily keeps a dog at his/her place of business.
   (E)   It shall be the duty of every police officer to report to the chief of police any dog which is found in the village contrary to the provisions of this section and/or take appropriate action regarding enforcement of this section. (Ord. 1173, 2-11-2013)
