It shall be unlawful for any person to own or keep a dog over the age of four (4) months unless such person shall procure a license therefor from the village. The owner or keeper of the dog shall provide the village with the name, breed, color, and sex of the dog owned or kept by such person, and shall provide a valid rabies shot certificate for the dog at the time of issuance of the village dog license. The fee for such dog license shall be ten dollars ($10.00). The village shall keep a complete registry of all licensed dogs, which shall include the information provided on the application for license including the address and contact information of the owner or keeper, and the assigned license number. All dog licenses shall expire on March 15 of each year after the date of issuance. All license renewals after March 15 are subject to an additional fee of five dollars ($5.00). (Ord. 1173, 2-11-2013)
