6-1-23: PEACE OFFICER DEFINED; RESISTING OR OBSTRUCTING:
   (A)   Definition: "Peace officer" means any person who by virtue of that person's office or public employment is vested by law with a duty to maintain public order or to make arrests for offenses, including ordinance violations, whether that duty extends to all offenses or is limited to specific offenses.
   (B)   Resisting Or Obstructing: A person who knowingly resists or obstructs the performance by one known to the person to be a peace officer of any authorized act within his official capacity commits the offense of resisting or obstructing a peace officer. (Ord. 1173, 2-11-2013)
