§ 112.19 STORAGE OF MOTOR VEHICLES.
   (A)   A vehicle towed upon the request of the township shall be taken to the towing contractor’s storage lot, unless the vehicle requires special processing or security, as determined by the township police officer requesting the tow of the vehicle, at which time the vehicle may be towed to a suitable or authorized facility.
   (B)   The towing contractor is responsible for the security of stored vehicles. For investigations or other special circumstances, the towing contractor will provide an indoor facility that can be secured in a manner approved by the Township Police Department. The towing contractor shall immediately notify the Township Police Department if a theft or other crime occurs to a stored vehicle.
   (C)   Release of personal property from a stored vehicle is at the discretion of the towing contractor. Prior to releasing personal property, the towing contractor shall verify the identity and authority of the person requesting removal of the personal property and document the same. The towing contractor shall immediately notify the Township Police Department if a dispute develops with a vehicle owner or operator over the release of personal property.
