§ 74.080 CITATIONS ON VEHICLES IN VIOLATION.
   (A)   Whenever any motor vehicle without a driver is found parked or left in violation of any provision of this subchapter, and is not removed and impounded as provided for in this subchapter, the police officer finding the vehicle shall take its registration number and any other information displayed on the vehicle which may identify its user, and shall conspicuously affix to the vehicle a traffic citation, on a form approved by the City Attorney, for the owner or driver to appear and answer to the charge against him or her within five days in the county court. The police officer shall file the charge in proper form in the county court within 24 hours after issuance of the traffic citation.
   (B)   If a violator of this subchapter does not so appear in the county court in response to a traffic citation affixed to the motor vehicle in accordance with this subchapter within the period of five days, on motion of the City Attorney, the county court shall issue of warrant for the defendant’s arrest.
