§ 74.054 BUS STOPS, TAXI STANDS, AND THE LIKE; PARKING PROHIBITED.
   (A)   The Board of Public Works and Safety of the city is hereby authorized to establish bus stop zones, taxicab stands, curb loading zones, and zones for the parking of vehicles of public officials when in use for the transaction of public business within the downtown limited parking zones, all subject to the approval of the Common Council, on the public streets and highways, in the places and in a number as the Board shall determine to be of the greatest benefit and convenience to the general public and every bus zone, taxicab stand, curb loading zone, and public official zone shall be designated by appropriate signs.

   (B)   No operator of any vehicle other than a bus shall stop, stand, or park in a bus stop zone. No operator of any vehicle other than a taxicab shall stop, stand, or park in a taxicab stand. No operator of any vehicle shall stop, stand, or park in a curb loading zone or zone marked for the use of public officials (other than operators of vehicles for whom these zones are designated) when any stop or stand has been officially designated and appropriately marked, except that the driver of a passenger vehicle may temporarily stop therein for the purpose of and while actually engaged in unloading passengers when the stopping does not interfere with the use for which any of the zones are designated.
