§ 35.22 MOTOR VEHICLE INSPECTION FEE AND FUND.
   (A)   Fees imposed. A fee of $5 shall be imposed for each motor vehicle inspected by a member of the city’s Police Department. The revenue from the inspection fees shall be receipted in a Special Motor Vehicle Inspection Fund.
   (B)   Creation of special motor vehicle inspection fund. Pursuant to I.C. § 9-17-2-12, the city hereby creates a Special Motor Vehicle Inspection Fund. Upon the completion of an inspection of a motor vehicle and upon remittance of a fee for such inspection to the Police Department, the police officer administering such inspection shall validate the official receipt for the owner of the motor vehicle. The information from the inspection shall be recorded on an application form prepared by the State Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
   (C)   Appropriation of revenue. The revenue collected for such motor vehicle inspections shall be appropriated only for law enforcement purposes. All expenditures shall be processed, appropriated, claimed and allowed in the same manner as other claims of the city.
