§ 33.223 LOCKOUT/TAGOUT.
When the energy isolating devices are not lockable, tagout may be used, provided the city complies with the provisions of the OSHA standard which require additional training and more rigorous periodic inspections. If an energy isolating device is capable of being locked out, the employee must use a lock out system unless the city can show that the tagout system provides full employee protection as described in this subchapter.
