The following policy shall apply to the resignation of employees from the city.
(A) An employee who is classified as a supervisor or a department head shall provide notice to the Personnel Director not less than four weeks prior to the effective date of his resignation. Any other regular city employee shall provide his department head and the Personnel Director with notice of resignation not less than two weeks prior to the effective date of the resignation.
(B) Upon resignation, if the employee has resigned in good standing, the employee shall be entitled to all accrued vacation leave to date. Failure to provide the notice set forth in division (A) above shall result in the employee’s resignation not in good standing, and accrued vacation leave may be withheld from the employee.
(C) The notice provisions set forth in division (A) above may be waived in the event that the Personnel Director makes a determination that special circumstances warrant the waiver.
