§ 33.31 PROCEDURE FOR FILLING VACANCIES.
   When vacancies occur, the city will fill the vacancies in the manner set forth below.
   (A)   The department head may fill said open position by promotion or transfer from within the affected department with approval from the Director of Administrative Services.
   (B)   If there still remains an open position after promotions/inter-department transfer, any written interest from any current city employee as well as applications on file will be reviewed for interviews which will be conducted by the department head and the Director of Administrative Services.
   (C)   Preference may be given to current city employees who possess the qualifications, skills and disposition for the open position.
   (D)   At the conclusion of the interview process, the department head shall meet with the Director of Administrative Services to make the final selection.
   (E)   If, after the interview process, the position cannot be filled during the interview process, the Director of Administrative Services will utilize social media outlets to notify the public of the job opening.
