137.01 ESTABLISHMENT AND COMPOSITION.

There is hereby established in and for the city a full-time Division of Fire, to be manned by the number of firefighters hereinafter set forth who shall be appointed by the Mayor and shall be in the classified service of the city:

(a) One Fire Chief;

(b) One Assistant Fire Chief;

(d) Up to three Lieutenants;

(e) Firefighters in such number as Council from time to time shall determine. For purposes of this section, the term “firefighters” shall include the positions of Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, Captains and Lieutenants.
