135.30 CORRECTIONS FACILITIES COOKS.
   (a)   There are hereby established within the Division of Police the positions of two (2) full-time and four (4) part-time cooks, who shall be under the immediate control and supervision of the Assistant Chief, to be appointed by the Mayor. The positions of full-time and part-time cooks shall be within the unclassified service. The terms of an Agreement authorized by Council concerning economic conditions and benefits shall control the economic and conditions and benefits of such employees. Otherwise, such employees shall receive such benefits as indicated under Chapter 157, Employees Generally.
   (b)   The two (2) full-time cooks shall have and perform the following duties:
      (1)   The full-time cook shall be responsible for duties associated with, but not limited to, the operations of the City Jail Kitchen as are set forth in the City’s Employee Job Descriptions and as the same are hereafter amended and approved by the Mayor/Director of Public Safety, the Police Chief and Assistant Chief.
      (2)   An applicant for the position of full-time cook shall be at least eighteen (18) years of age and a high school graduate or possess equivalent experience and/or relevant education and have experience in the preparation of meals for groups of people, and knowledge of sanitation and food preparation as prescribed by the Health Department.
   (c)   The four (4) part-time cooks shall not exceed a total of ninety-six (96) hours per week and shall have and perform the following duties:
      (1)   The part-time cook shall be responsible for duties associated with, but not limited to, the operations of the City Jail Kitchen as are set forth in the City’s Employee Job Descriptions and as the same are hereafter amended and approved by the Mayor/Director of Public Safety, the Police Chief and Assistant Chief.
      (2)   No individual part-time cook shall work more than thirty-two (32) hours per week providing coverage for the kitchen as required to operate the facility, according to the Minimum Standards for Jails in Ohio.
      (3)   An applicant for the position of part-time cook shall have experience in the preparation of meals for groups of people, and knowledge of sanitation and food preparation as prescribed by the Health Department.
