135.246 FULL-TIME CORRECTIONS OFFICERS.
   (a)   There are hereby established within the Division of Police eighteen (18) full-time positions of Corrections Officers who shall be under the immediate supervision of the Assistant Chief and the Corrections Officers O.I.C. and shall be in the unclassified service and receive such compensation as Council shall designate.
   (b)   The full-time Corrections Officers shall be responsible for duties associated with, but not limited to, the operation of the City Corrections Facility as are set forth in the City’s Employee Job Descriptions and as the same are hereafter amended and approved by the Mayor/Director of Public Safety the Police Chief and the Assistant Chief.
   (c)   The full-time Corrections Officers shall provide coverage for the post as required to operate the facility, according to the Minimum Standards for Jails in Ohio.
   (d)   An applicant for the full-time Corrections Officer position shall have successfully completed the Basic Corrections Officer Course approved by O.P.O.T.A., or shall complete the same within one (1) year of the date of hire.
