135.24 CORRECTIONS OFFICERS O.I.C. (OFFICER IN CHARGE). 
   (a)   There are hereby established within the Division of Police four (4) full-time positions of Corrections Officers O.I.C. (OFFICER IN CHARGE) who shall be under the general control and supervision of the Mayor/Director of Public Safety and the Police Chief and the immediate control and supervision of the Assistant Chief and shall be in the classified Civil Service and receive such compensation as Council shall designate.
   (b)   The Corrections Officers O.I.C. shall be responsible for the duties associated with, but not limited to, the operation of the City Corrections Facility as are set forth in the City’s Employee Job Descriptions and as the same are hereafter amended and approved by the Mayor/Director of Public Safety, the Police Chief and the Support Services Commander.
   (c)   The Corrections Officers O.I.C. shall further perform such duties on an on-call basis as required by the Assistant Chief. The Correction Officers O.I.C. shall be on an (12) month probationary period, from the starting date of assignment.
   (d)   An applicant for an Corrections Officer O.I.C. position shall be at least eighteen (18) years of age and be a high school graduate or possess equivalent experience and/or relevant education and shall hold an Ohio Corrections Officer's certificate and shall have completed the Basic Corrections Officer Course approved by O.P.O.T.A. prior to appointment.
   (e)   The Corrections Officers O.I.C. shall report for duty as scheduled and in a timely manner to insure that they may review and receive orders prior to assuming their shift.
