135.22 LIFE INSURANCE; POLICEMEN.

   (a)   The City shall arrange for the provision of a twenty thousand dollar ($20,000) face value life insurance policy for each police officer of the City not covered under a controlling Agreement authorized by Council concerning economic conditions and benefits.

   An employee, at his/her own cost, may request an additional twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) of life insurance coverage provided the employee authorizes a payroll deduction to cover the premium of the additional life insurance coverage.

   (b)   The policy of life insurance to be provided for herein shall be effective January 1, 2001.
